Lifting—Phenomena, Causes and Solutions

1、Problem:Lifting

2、Phenomenon:When spraying the same or different kinds of paint on the dry paint film, the lower paint film will be eroded, swollen, and softened during the coating or drying period. This causes the primer film to separate from the surface of the substrate, causing wrinkles, swelling, blistering, and loss of gloss.

Spray the top coat before the

primer layer is completely dry.

After the primer is fully cured, spray the top coat.

The solvent of   the topcoat is too strong or the primer has poor solubility resistance.

Use appropriate thinner to

eliminate strong solvents that swell the primer.

The topcoat spray is too

wet and thick

For the matching   primer that is easy to lift, spray a top coat thinly on the base coat first,   and then spray after a while

Metallized film is too thin.

Extend the metal   metallized time to ensure the thickness of the metallized film.

The primer and topcoat are not matched.

Choose matching primer and topcoat.
